Neuroscience Overview:
Neuroscience is the scientific study of the nervous
system. Within psychology, neuroscientists emphasize
the study of both normal and abnormal brain-behavior
relations. Many different specialists within psychology
contribute to increasing our understanding of the neural
basis of behavior including behavioral neuroscientists
(e.g., the neurobiology of learning), cognitive neuroscientists
(e.g., the representation of language), and clinical
neuroscientists (e.g., the mechanisms and consequences
of Alzheimer's disease).
